In the southwest of Corsica, between the well-known megalithic site, Filitosa and the beautiful Sartène, is the Casa Leandri situated above the Gulf of Valinco near Propriano.

Casa Leandri has 3 separate bedrooms in the 1st Floor, so that for 6 persons comfortable sleeping accommodations are available. There is a large living room with fireplace, a very well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, and a lovely terrace. The bathroom is very spacious and has a bath.

Casa Leandri is the last house of Belvedere, situated on a slope, directly below the forest. If you e.g. want to bring a dog, pets are welcome. Even a morning jogging is here ideal.

The big fireplace in the lounge not only tempts for a pleasant chat but is basically used to cook a pork suckling in the Corsican tradition.
In the meantime, you can relax with a glass of Corsican red wine in front of the fireplace, or enjoy the unique sunset from the beautiful terrace. Not to be forgotten, stimulate the appetite with local olives, chestnuts, grapes, white bread, Corsican sausages, and especially the undoubtedly best Corsican cheese, the Boricciu.

The Casa Leandri is ideally situated to explore the region. Located in the heart of the Gulf of Valinco, is the main town and beach resort, Propriano, founded in 1640 by the Genoese. Today the 3,500 populated town is considered as the starting point for many trips, either along the coast or the hinterland. Everywhere you experience a touch of tradition and history and in every major city, there is a particular highlight. In Sartène, e.g. take the Good Friday procession route of the traditional "Catenacciu" .
The cities Olmeto and Fozzano are a popular attraction for many tourists because of the legendary heroine "Colomba" from the novel by Prosper Mérimée.

For those who are particularly interested in history, the region of Sartène is ideal, especially since this is considered as the centre of the Corsican megalithic culture. Around two thirds of the prehistoric megalithic sites are concentrated in this region and are among the most important in the western Mediterranean. In Filitosa, Fontanaccia, Palaggiu and Cauria dolmens and menhirs are important evidence of the first inhabitants of Corsica from the ancient days and occupy more than 8,000 years of ancient history. The site of Filitosa has been listed on the world heritage of the UNESCO.

The coastal area, however, is for all water enthusiasts a true paradise. From the Casa Leandri to the beautiful sandy beach of Portigliolo is just 10 minutes by car, but one should also take the opportunity to visit the other beautiful beaches. In particular the beach of Campo Moro with its famous rock as well as the beaches Olmeto, Baracci, Mancinu, Porto Pollo and Puraja.
Especially the diving sportsmen favour this area since some years. However, many other water sports activities are possible such as skiing, jet skiing and windsurfing.

Boat trips and boat rental round up the water sports offers. From Propriano numerous horseback riding outings begin. as well as hikes to the mountain massif of Bavella to see the famous Aiguilles de Bavella. However, if you prefer local sport activities there are tennis courts in Propriano. In addition, the town also offers plenty of shopping opportunities, such as a self-service store, restaurants, pizzerias and ice-cream parlours
